Comedian Jo Koy Talks About His Sister’s Struggle With Lupus
In this video from the Lupus Foundation of America, comedian Jo Koy talks about his sister’s struggle with lupus and why he became an ambassador for the disease.
Koy’s sister was diagnosed with lupus and Raynaud’s phenomenon in 2013 after suffering from symptoms for 15 years. He explains that she was extremely fatigued, and that she would get debilitating migraines and body aches. He talks about his involvement with the Lupus Foundation of America’s Walk to End Lupus and how seeing all the other lupus sufferers gave his sister a renewed sense of hope.
Koy pledges to continue raising awareness of the disease and his fundraising efforts so researchers can identify better treatments and hopefully find a cure for the disease.
