Ian Harding on the “Lupus Foundation of America”
Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease. The range of symptoms is widespread which makes it difficult to diagnose, taking an average of seven years for patients to get an accurate diagnosis. Since this is a disease that can affect anyone, not even celebrities – and their loved ones – can escape it.
AOL BUILD shared this video where you can watch the well-known actor from the TV show “Pretty Little Liars”, share his lupus story and discussing his advocacy for The Lupus Foundation of America, the only national force devoted to solving the mystery of lupus. Ian grew up watching his mother fighting this devastating disease which can affect any part of the human body. The actor talks openly about how his mother’s diagnosis in 1994 shaped his life and that of his sister.
Even though this is a pretty common disease, there is still a lot of misconception about it and information about lupus needs to be spread. So, what’s a better way to spread the word about lupus than with the help of celebrities?
