What Does a Lupus Flare Feel Like?
In this short informative video from the Lupus Foundation of American, the organization’s nurse health educator, Sarah, explains what a lupus flare feels like.
In an effort to increase the public’s understanding of lupus, the video explains how lupus patients feel when they suffer a flare. Sarah uses the analogy of coming down with the flu, but multiply that by a thousand to try to get non-lupus sufferers to understand how sick people feel with the condition.
As well as making people generally feel unwell, lupus can be a dangerous disease that attacks a person’s internal organs (sometimes fatally). Some of the most common parts of the body affected by lupus are the joints, skin, kidneys, lungs, brain, and heart.
