Sarah uses the analogy of coming down with the flu, but multiply that by a thousand to try to get non-lupus sufferers to understand how sick people feel with the condition.

As well as making people generally feel unwell, lupus can be a dangerous disease that attacks a person’s internal organs (sometimes fatally). Some of the most common parts of the body affected by lupus are the joints, skin, kidneys, lungs, brain, and heart.
