Lupus is an autoimmune disease that can attack any part of the patient’s body. This makes it a difficult disease to diagnose as the symptoms can mimic many other illnesses. In addition, there are so many different symptoms that no two patients will experience the same ones.

In this video from Ella and Emma, some of the most common symptoms of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) are explained using simple diagrams.

Lupus patients will often experience psychological symptoms such as fatigue and loss of appetite, along with physical symptoms such as inflammation of the joints and muscles, arthritis, poor circulation, photosensitivity, mouth and nose ulcers, and low-grade fever.
