Fatigue can play a major role in the lives of lupus patients but fatigue is more than just feeling tired and needing a little more sleep, it can have a profound effect on their emotional wellbeing.

In this LiveHopeLupus video, lupus vlogger Samantha Wayne talks about energy, fatigue, and how she often doesn’t feel like she can truly be herself around other people. Samantha shares how she has to conserve her energy and store it up for social engagements but even then she is quiet and withdrawn, letting very few people see the real her.

The emotional toll of being sick along with fatigue has left Samantha feeling permanently guarded and anxious. She often wonders if she’ll ever be able to return to her old energy levels and be her old self again.
