This short informative video from Andés Peña touches on some of the important facts about lupus.
It explains that lupus is a difficult disease to diagnose because there are so many different symptoms and they mimic other diseases. In addition, no two lupus patients experience the same symptoms although one of the most common outward signs of lupus is a butterfly rash across the bridge of the nose and cheeks.
Other contributing factors to the disease’s development include sex (more women are diagnosed with the disease than men), age (women tend to be of child-bearing age), and family history.
