Maurissa explains that her first sign of lupus was the classic butterfly rash and that she was diagnosed with the disease at the age of 15. Over the years her lupus symptoms have gotten worse and she has experienced problems with her lungs, kidneys and central nervous system.

She also talks about the importance of the Lupus Foundation and highlights the good work it does helping to support people like her.
