Rheumatology Associates adds to practice

Rheumatology Associates, one of the country’s largest rheumatology specialty practices, announced it has recruited Dr. Padmapriya Sivaraman, the 15th board-certified rheumatologist to join the team and increasing office locations to eight with a new office in North Richland Hills, a suburb of Fort Worth, Texas.

Rheumatology Associates, founded in 1975, has grown to become one of the largest rheumatology groups in the U.S. providing specialty care to people throughout the Dallas and Fort Worth region. It now has offices in Dallas, Arlington, Duncanville, Grapevine, Irving, Plano, Lewisville, and now North Richland Hills.

The group’s clinicians have extensive knowledge in clinical practice, clinical research, and basic science research. In addition to systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), patients suffering all sorts of rheumatic diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoporosis, sarcoidosis, scleroderma, reactive arthritis, and psoriatic arthritis are treated by Rheumatology Associates.

The clinics offer in-house diagnostic services including full-service X-ray, bone densitometry, and a CLIA-certified laboratory for hematology, chemistry, and immunology. The practice also offers 24-hour emergency service.

Sivaraman is a board-certified rheumatologist and internist, and is an active member of the American College of Rheumatology.

After earning an undergraduate degree at Kasturba Medical College at Manipal University, India, she completed her residency and a rheumatology fellowship at Case Western Reserve University. During this time, Sivaraman received the Peter Morgan Award for outstanding performance.

She received a position on the rheumatology faculty at Case Western after completing her fellowship. At the university, she was encouraged to teach, mainly giving lectures, and received an outstanding clinical teaching award her first year.

Sivaraman’s compassionate approach to patient care always centers around the needs of the patient, focusing on listening, teaching, and dedication.

“I am pleased to join Rheumatology Associates and open an office in North Richland Hills. Our patients come from all over the metroplex, and this offers a convenient location for those who live in northern Tarrant County,” said Sivaraman, who recently moved to Texas from Cleveland, Ohio, in a press release.
