In this short video from Corbus Pharmaceutical Holdings Ltd, Dr. Meggan Mackay from the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine in Hempstead, New York talks about lupus and the prevalence of the disease.

Dr. Mackay shares that lupus is a disease that primarily affects young women of childbearing age, and explains the condition has a huge impact on not just the patient’s life, but also on their family’s lives. She then goes on to say that although men can contract lupus, it’s mainly a woman’s disease and that women of color are three to four times more likely to have lupus than Caucasian women.
